ICD code R06.2 is abnormal breathing characterized by a high-pitched whistling sound, commonly known as wheezing.

1. Presence of a high-pitched whistling sound during breathing, especially on exhalation

2. Audible respiratory noise detected by auscultation or reported by the patient

3. Associated with airway obstruction or narrowing

4. May occur with or without other respiratory symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath

5. Not attributable to acute upper airway infection alone

6. Can be present in acute or chronic respiratory conditions
